In a move that shouldn’t surprise anyone, Microsoft has announced that they will open two datacenters in Canada; one in Toronto and one in Quebec city. The datacenters will host Office 365, Azure cloud platform and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.
This is good news for Canadian companies and government, which will now have the option of retaining data in Canada as part of Microsoft’s strategy to allow customers to choose data sovereignty to avoid US datacenters for fear of the US Patriot Act.
